Sensation is all about feeling something within your body.
Ex: The face mask is causing a burning sensation.
Tip: sensation is usually used with an adjective
Sense is also feeling but it involves your 5 senses (taste, touch, hear, sight, and smell) or the way you perceive things to make a guess.
Ex: I sense that the face mask was going to be a waste of money.
Tip: Sense is another way of saying you had an idea or you assumed.
Something gives you an sensation and you sense something.
I hope that makes sense

Sense as a noun means essentially wisdom. Someone with good sense is able to make a good decision. Often it is described as common sense meaning that person has the wisdom that is commonly expected. It makes no sense means that something has no logical basis.
Sensation is a much more complex word with multiple meanings. It doesn't have anything to do with wisdom. It has to do with being able to feel. A doctor might poke your leg in an examination and ask do you have any sensation in your legs. Another common meaning of the word is something that is a very big success. Star wars was a sensation when the film was released.

I think that sometimes they can mean alsmot the same, but : Sense in general means "meaning".
For example when someone explains to you the reason of something you can say : "Ah this makes sense."
Sensation is generally used for expressing a "feeling", " The disease causes the loss of sensation in the fingerers."
I hope it helps,
