There are both pros and cons to a cashless society. Pros: first , it is environmentally friendly . We don’t need to print paper currency in a cashless society. In other words there’s no need to cut down trees to make bills. Second, it is convenient. A phone can help us handle all payments instead of using money . Third, it can reduce or even eliminate corruption, because every transaction can be recorded and traceable . That’s a great way to cut down on bribery. Cons: first, a cashless system needs the strong support from third parties like the internet and payment systems. We need more than one payment system so if there’s no single or the payment system collapse then we can’t do anything. Second, our privacy is threatened because these systems can record our every transaction. As a result, our schedules and consumption habits are transparent to those with access to the databases where these records are stored.
