Hi, Andrea! Living in a place with different culture and language to yours can be a challenge. I suggest you try to make baby steps so you won't stress yourself too much. You can: -Talk to one people at a time. (If you have a local friend, that's great!) -Watch Scottish shows with subtitles to study their accent. -Try to ask questions if you don't understand something. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. It's part of your learning process. -Take your time. Make it a fun learning experience. There's no such thing as a deadline to finish learning a language. Keep on learning and you will be one step closer to your goals! 🌟

How do you get better at anything? You practice it. Talk with locals whenever you get the chance. Find resources where people speak with the accent you're struggling with- movies, series, videos, interviews, newscasts, podcasts, standup comedy, music, etc. and listen, listen, listen.

The posh Edinburgh accent is easy to listen to. Like most things, it is practice. Download the BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds app for TV and radio respectively. Listen to Laura Kuenssberg on news reports and podcasts . She lived in both Edinburgh and Glasgow and is easy to understand. I hope you have a lovely time in Scotland.
