I'm not a native speaker, but In portuguese, vir means come. (You wrote "went" means go to~ , it is "ir" in portuguese.) - present form eu venho você,ele, ela vem nós vimos vocês,eles, elas vêm - past form(perfeito) vim veio viemos vieram Is it enough answer that u ask?

Hi Beyg. The verb Vir is an inrregular verb and it changes its form a lot. It's a verb that even native speakers use it wrongly. So: Presente (present): Eu venho , Ele/Ela vem , Nós vimos , Eles/Elas vêm Passado (past): Eu vim, Ele/Ela veio, Nós viemos, Eles/Elas vieram Pay Attetion to some important things: Vem and Vêm are different. Vem is singular ( used with one person) and vêm is plural (used with people). Examples: Você vem agora ? Elas vêm apenas amanhã. Vimos ( present) and Viemos (past). Vimos is also a conjugation form of the verb VER (to see) and people usually make a confusion between them. Nós vimos agora da praia. ( we come from the beach right now.) Nós viemos de lá ontem ( we came from there yersterday)

"Vir" is an irregular verb. You can find out how to conjugate "vir" and other verbs in conjugators like this one: https://www.conjugacao.com.br/ It's from Brazil, but it also includes all verb forms used in other varieties of Portuguese. P.S.: We all have verb doubts from time to time and find ourselves checking the conjugator.

Hi Beyg, I think you've posted this in the English section of the iTalki community. There is another section for Portuguese. :)
