Every year on the night of July 7th, colorful papers with wishes written on them are hung on a bamboo leaf, and people pray to the stars. "May my family and loved ones be healthy," "May I pass the university entrance exam," etc. There are many theories about the origins of the Tanabata Festival, but it is thought to be a mix of Chinese and Japanese culture and has been popular in Japan since ancient times. Last year, I attended the Tanabata Festival in Asagaya, Tokyo, with some friends. Although it was cancelled this year due to the coronavirus, I would like to participate again next year with my friends.
