What is the best word in english in this example below? When you someone asks you for a favor and you cannot say “no” to them and it is hard for you to say “no”. In english we say “stand on ceremony”? Or what is the correct word for this situation?

i have a question. are you trying to describe this in a positive or negative way? because typically this would seem like a negative thing to me where you are letting yourself be taken advantage of. in that case i'd think you want to say something like "i am too accomodating" or even more negative would be i'm letting myself be walked all over"

In English DO we say “stand on ceremony”? Or what is the correct word for this situation? I know what you mean - 'you feel obliged', maybe? Cheers, Tutor Zowee :)

Do you mean what would you say to them to turn them down nicely, or do you mean how you would describe this situation, say to another person? The other answers are more about how you would describe the situation.

This situation implies that you cannot assert yourself and politely refuse.

We have an expression: “Between a rock and a hard place.” It means that both choices are bad, like you cannot win.
