I have noticed a strange phenomenon that we seem to get wiser as we get older. Some things we did during our teenage years look very stupid now. We really regret doing these things because they wasted some of the most important time in our lives. So, when we see children or teenagers making the same mistakes we made at the same age, we become concerned about their future. In fact, we do not automatically become smart or wise as we get older. We have just learned many lessons from our past. The mistakes we made before really hurt us later. They taught us that everything we do has consequences. Those consequences can be positive or negative, depending on the purpose. As we grow older, we often ask ourselves why we did not listen to our parents or other elders’ advice. Why did we make such important decisions in our lives without thinking more carefully about the future? In the end, we spend our whole lives growing up.
