What does "put something in perspective" mean? I think it's quite similar to "see something from different perspectives". Is there any difference? Thank you in advance.

Hello, to put something into perspective loosely means to give a clearer understanding/idea of how significant/important something is, for example when used in a sentence : "The pandemic helped put things into perspective" To see something from different perspectives means to see something from another point of view or see things differently from the way you usually do, for example: "Having a roommate from another country has made me look at things from a different perspective" I hope it helps

This usually means that some new information makes you feel differently about something that you were upset about. For example, "While I was driving to work, I realized that I forgot my lunch at home. I was very upset about this. Then I saw a car accident and an ambulance, and I realized that my lunch problems are not that important. That really put things in perspective." or "I was sad that my vacation was only 1 week instead of 2 weeks. But then I met a man who had never had a vacation in his entire life. This put things in perspective." Good luck!

To “put something in perspective” means to compare with something similar to give a clearer, more accurate idea. Hope this helps. Regards, Teacher Dean.
