It sounds fine to me, if you're trying to be a bit more literary in your approach. Sometimes our heart can beat so hard or so fast we can literally hear it in our own ears, so that's what this would indicate to me. Someone must be extremely nervous, scared or excited for their heart to be "noisily" but it definitely works.
Example:
1. Jessica had just seen her room mate killed by a zombie and she was so scared that her heart was beating noisily enough that she couldn't hear the screaming!
2. As her boyfriend got down on one knee to propose Jessica's heart was beating so noisily that she couldn't even hear what he was saying to her, though she was sure he was proposing so she screamed "YES!"
