Do they sound natural? 1) If you are a tourist and want to get a real feel for how Japanese day-to-day life is, then you must fully immerse yourself in the local culture. 2) If you are a tourist and want to see real Japanese, I must say that you don't get any more real feel than the poor Japanese.

The first one sounds like natural writing. The second one sounds odd. Maybe: If you are a tourist and want to see real Japan, I have to say it doesn't get any more real than being among the Japanese poor.

#1 sounds good. #2 is strange. "to see real japanese" = Do you mean real Japanese people or real life in Japan? Also, "more real feel" is an odd word combination. Do you mean Japanese people who live in the farmlands, or poor people who live in the city?

First one is very good. You could add ... for a real feel of how Japanese day-today life REALLY is, --- Second one is a bit off in my view you need something after the word Japanese. If you are a tourist and want to see real Japanese culture/life/living/, I must say that you don't get more of a real feel than from the the poor Japanese

They do and i do agree with both statements. Because touristy spots all over the world are usually over crowded and over priced due to the foreigners spending. Though to go to a poorer region and live like a local and feel the true life of the people that will truly give you a more clear understanding. If i have a chance i want to go to the Aikido temple in Osaka and stay there one or 2 years to immerse myself into budo.
