Since the theory of multiverse has come to light, it does prove to be true that life would exist somewhere where many versions of you or any one human being would exist. Plus, we have so many historical proofs of it and many religions have given a slight indication of it.

There are estimated to be 700,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in the universe (approximately). So it is hard to imagine that there is not life of some kind elsewhere. Sadly, we will probably never know for sure. Unless, of course, there are already aliens living amongst us. Apparently, according to some ex-members of certain secret services... But I had better not say more, as I believe it to be highly confidential information.

If there is then pretty soon you'll be able to learn the alien languages on italki ;-)

"Life?" Certainly. I think the chances are close to 100%. On our own earth, there are forms of life living in hot water in undersea volcanic vents where the temperatures are >100°C, for example. There are surely many planets with conditions less extreme than some on earth where life exists. It's very likely that there's some kind of biological life on Mars, but it will probably be something boring and microscopic, like mould or blue-green algae or bacteria. "Intelligent life?" A completely different question. The only thing I will say is that the whole history of astronomy has been that the Earth is less and less unique than we thought. First we thought it was the center of the universe. Then we realized it wasn't even the center of the solar system. Then we realized that the solar system wasn't anywhere near the center of the galaxy. When I was a kid, they thought our galaxy was about twice the size of most; but, no, it's just an ordinary galaxy. It's all guesses and dreams, but my guess is that there is plenty of intelligent life in the universe, and that human beings are of average intelligence.
