If you are going to take classes in a language school, you have to decide whether you want to go to a big or small city. Big cities are more fun, but they are also more international and you may find yourself speaking english too often. Berlin is an awesome place to be and the cost of living is considerably lower than in Hamburg, Munich or Frankfurt. Some popular language schools for intensive courses are Neue Schule and Hartnackschule (the latter is maybe the most affordable but it has big groups):
