Bomb-failure ? I have an old slang book .There they give the meaning of the bomb as failure. Is it right or not?

Yes, it can mean "something that has failed" in an informal context:

That movie was a real bomb.

but if you say: "this is the bomb", it means: "it's the best" . it's an idiom....
