안녕하세요. I'm not sure how to say my age in Korean. I want to be able to say these 3 phrases formally and casually. Please help if you can.
#1. "I am 27 years old (in Korean age)." 저는 스물일곱 살 이에요 (??).
#2. "I am 25 years old (in International age)." 저는 스물다섯 살 이에요 (??).
#3. "I was born in 1990." 저는 (??)년생 입니다.
I used the following as reference:
10: 열 (yawl)
20: 스물 (seumul) (drops the final “l” when followed by “살”)
30: 서른 (sawreun)
....
1: 하나 (hana)
2: 둘 (dool)
3: 셋 (set)
4: 넷 (net)
5: 다섯 (dasawt)
6: 여섯 (yawsawt)
7: 일곱(ilgop)
8: 여덟(yawdol)
9: 아홉(ahhop)
One thing to note is that -이에요 and -입니다 are variations on the particle -이다.
They should always be directly attached to the preceding noun without a space before it.
So 저는 스물일곱 살입니다 and 저는 구십 년생입니다 are the correct way to write them.
#1. "I am 27 years old (in Korean age)." 저는 스물일곱 살 입니다.
#2. "I am 25 years old (in International age)." 저는 스물다섯 살 입니다.
#3. "I was born in 1990." 저는 구십 년생 입니다. / 저는 구공 년생 입니다.
#1/#2 In the case of age although using 이에요 technically isn't incorrect, it's better to say ~입니다.
#3: When it comes to mentioning your birth year, most people will omit the first two digits of the year (common practise because you won't meet any 19th century people) so Koreans will often just give the last two digits. In your case, saying that you're a 90's (구십) 년생 or each digit individually 9, 0 (구 공) 년생 is the best way to tell people how old you are.
If you were born in 1990, you can say your age in korean-- 저는 스물일곱 살 이에요.
저는 천구백구십 년생 입니다.
