Do you know the Dutch have ever dominated and ruled over Formosa for many years during the flourishing years of the Netherlands ? there are some people in Taiwan who are mixed with the Dutch.

I have a Taiwanese friend founded in this Italki. Unfortunately, we often talk about personal thing like "why are you learning Indonesian/Mandarin", "how long have you been learning them" etc instead of our countries. Taiwan-related things I know are only its Capital, Taipei, Taiwanese are using Chinese Traditional as their character (actually, this is hard to remember), and Its movie called "Na Xie Nian/那些年" or "Those years - The Girl We Liked Together" in English. It's one of my favourite movies. XD

I also think that in Taiwan you learn the old Chinese characters.

故宮！I went to an exhibition from 國立故宮博物院 a few years ago in Tokyo.
