I was thinking,
1) 二人との関係を成功させるには、二人はその関係を気にかけなくてはならない。
2) 二人との関係の成功は、二人とも時間とエネルギーを割かなくてはならない。
But I feel that they don't capture the nuance as well. Does anyone have an idea?

But I am not quite sure if the word "success" is appropriate here. I would actually use the word "to last". So if I hadn't seen your English sentence or your Japanese, I would probably say:
二人が、関係を末長く続けるためには、両者が共にお互いを気遣い、感謝の気持ちを忘れることなく、努力し続けて行く必要がある。
