Laura
Italki Webinars

Hi everybody,

I have been away (from the website) for a while and there is something new that I do not really know how it works: Italki Webinars.

On the right hand side of the screen, there is like an ad of a teacher, it seems as if it was an online lesson addressed to different people at the same time. There is an option to join a lesson, for free.

I wonder if someone knows a bit more about it, and if anyone has tried it before.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome back, Laura.

I'm not sure if I'm right or wrong, but I believe those who have Ad block on their

browsers don't see these ads on italki. The reason I'm saying this, is that once

I used a friend's laptop when I was on vacation, and all of a sudden there were

many Ads on italki including a webinars Ad, because there was no Ad block on

my friend's browser.

I also see these Ads when I check italki on my phone because there's no Ad block

installed. So I don't think these Ads are only for some italki users, they are probably

posted for everyone to see.

Thank you Spangola...

I did check the Find a Teacher link and all the sections under the Community link and did not see anything that looked like an ad for any one individual.

Strange....

Hi MondayTuesday and Andy,

There might be an ad for English students as the teacher and the sessions are taught in English. It says:

Business English with Paul. Learn some key vocabulary for the office, from team meetings to recruitment and training. Save your seat! BUSINESS ENGLISH WITH PAUL.

When I click on the ad, a new window open and it says that if I want to "book" the lesson which take place that day at that time, the only thing I have to do is to write my email in a box and accept. I have not done it, because times do not suit me and I do not know what it consists of. I can not imagine a session with 5 people, for instance.
