Views of Nazi Germany from the eyes of the Japanese

Hello,

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the sensitive topic to some, but I've

seen quite a few photos of different Japanese people in cosplay conventions dressed up as members of Nazi Germany's Waffen SS regiment (and quite accurately as well), which has brought me to my question.

If you are natively Japanese, please share your views on the appropriateness

of wearing Nazi Germany's uniforms in public, in Japan.

Thank you

Hi, I realize that you are asking only Japanese natives but I have an answer to this question. I've spent time in Japan and I've seen this cosplays, mostly in Akibahara, Japan but really just about everywhere where cosplay takes place. Though I understand this topic is "senstive" in Europe and America really in Japan it's just seen as cosplay and nothing insulting. I'm a German American myself and I will admit I found it at first to be alarming, I soon realized it's really no big deal. Of course these sort of cosplays do get the wrong media attention in the States..but I really see no problem if it's just cosplay. If it is in a Con in USA or Europe I see it as appropriate but of course I suggest changing clothes before going out into public settings, but this rule would apply to me for any cosplay.
