When to use formal vs dialect forms of arabic

When do you use written form of arabic vs when do you use dialect?
Is there any form of language which works in between?
Finally, when you meet people you know vs people you are not acquinted with do you greet them in different way?

stadard Arabic wich called [ fusha ] in Arabic used in formal letters as C.V. , contracts , books , news papers and so on

dialect used in talks btween friends and family or every informal talk , t.v. series or films

so you can speak dialect every where in informal situations

but you should know every Arabic country has its own accent

greeting as in English and most languages differ from close friends to teacher and his students and so on

well if you mean (foshaa) as a written form then we don't actually use it in daily life. We understand it but most people don't use it.

About greeting people we usualy use the same words but use a different tone. Or if you want to show more respect to the person you'r talking to you can use the plural form with him.

I hope I gave you the answer that you need:)
