Ora vs Adesso: could be a good match to see at coliseum.

I am jocking of course. I don't think the difference is in the meaning. Italian is a very rich language so you can work with the meaning but also with the sound of the words. Let me see if I can write an example for you:

Mangia ora la pera di prima.

Mangia adesso la pera di prima.

Adesso che passo nel sottopasso a spasso vado, ora che corro col carro ad arare vado

well I invented them right now and they are not so good but if ou try to pronunciate them exchanging adesso e ora you will that the meaning does not change but the sound is different. Did you know that Italians are good musicians? This is the reason, we have armoniuous sounds in our language.

Hey Joe, there's no a real difference between "adesso" and "ora". You can absolutley use both. They have the same meaning and there's not a rule to prefer one word over another.

So don't worry: If you say "adesso" or "ora" you will never go wrong. 

Ora can also mean hour; other than that, I don't think there's a difference.

Hi! well, I think when it does exists difference between both is like NOW and RIGHT NOW (ORA and ADESSO)

I will start with ADESSO.

Adesso mangierò la mela = I'll eat the apple right now.

(I will eat THIS APPLE AT THIS VERY MOMENT, not, after or later, but RIGHT NOW)

ORA

Ora, mangierò la mela. =I eat the apple now.

(It could be that I have eaten another apple or another fruit before, or I mean this day I'll eat it, or I'm about to eat the apple)

In short, it is less precise ORA than ADESSO as regards WHEN I will do an action.
