In some circumstance, to pay to engage a qualified and competent teacher might be useful for your learning. In my opinion, most language partners are not trustable or reliable not because they are not sincere or honest, but rather they do not have the same destination as yours.

I guess the most prominent reason which frustrates you is everyone has his target or intention when they join in this website. In addition, people's language level varies very much and I reckon that is why some people with good language level do not want to share their knowledge with others.

I am sorry you have not had much help with language on italki. But like Allen said, people join italki for many different reasons. Also, they might not know your native language to be able to help.
