Hearing a word in a sentence and thinking, "I know that word!" - even if I can't understand the whole sentence, I know it's a small step forward.  And in Polish, hearing an ending on a word and knowing why that ending has been used instead of another one - just beginning to unpick how it's all put together.

Imagine how beautiful it is man to converse with whoever you want to in their prefered language... that kind of a picture gives me joy mate.
