I haven't eaten horse meat, but I've heard that people from Central Asian and certain Central European countries do. I wouldn't mind trying I guess. I believe that 'taboo meat' is a concept that is too fluid to really exist - Pork is a staple meat in many regions, yet is not allowed in Muslim countries. Similarly, if people in the west don't eat horse meat, it doesn't mean that it's wrong to eat horse meat.

Easy to find in Germany. Nothing special. 

Horse meat is very nutritious, I ate it in France when I was on a school trip, you would mistake it for beef if no one told you it was horse.
