How long do I need to speak fluently?

Hello to everyone,

I'm learning English, but I'm very shy when I speak in this language and it's difficult to me speak fluent. I always think in my language (Spanish) and then I try translate and speak in English. I would like to speak with native people to speak, little by little, more fluent. Maybe twice or three times per week by Skype it would be a good idea. My question is, it's really effective? How long do I need to achieve this goal?

I hope your comments.

Thank you very much

If someone is looking for language partner to improve Spanish, add me.

It is difficult to answer your question because every learner is different. The fact that you are shy when you speak English will slow you down, but speaking a few times a week is good.Of course it is better if you can practise your English every day.The most important thing is that you are motivated and you want to learn!

Good luck with your studies.

I think no one can tell you exact time to be fluent in any language. It depends on YOU. you can get that in 1 year or 10 year. but the most important factor here is how much time you spend using the language your are learning in dialy basis.
I'm not native, but I try to be fluent in English too. if you're feeling like internested to be an English partner via Skype just send me a message

It takes time to become fluent and there is no exact amount.  You simply have to use the language as much as you can and soon you will find it to be easier and easier.

Toma tiempo hacerse fluido, y no hay una cantidad exacto.  Soloo tienes que usar el idioma tan mucho como puedas y muy pronto, encontrarás más fácil. Buena suerte!

It required 1 to 3 years to move from one level to another.

Less time if you live in England I'd say, I guess it depends.
