What are repelling or attracting traits period? I'm thinking anyone, not relationship wise.
I was sitting with a friend of mine, (an independent girl) and watched her brush away one man in a heartbeat but letting another come close. I felt sorry for the rejected guy when he barely said anything, but I became friends with her through her approaching me (I was new).
Sounds like your friend was more interested in physical appearance if she brushed one aside so effortlessly yet welcomed another! But, they say beauty is only skin deep, for me it's a person must have a natural confidence, be friendly and welcoming amongst other things.
