The first and last words of movie titles should be capitalized: for example, Pride and Prejudice. Principal words, including those that follow hyphens in compound terms are also capitalized. Articles ("a," "an," and "the"). prepositions, and the infinitive "to" are not capitalized unless they begin the title or follow a colon: for example, Gone with the Wind; Born to Kill.
When citing the title of a movie for a book, newspaper article, website, or other publication, put the title in italics. The Associated Press, however, prefers titles to be in quotation marks, since italics cannot be sent through traditional wire technologies. When writing the title by hand, underline the title.
