”Gotten to know" is fine! Very natural English. We had a truly crazy amount of snow - almost a meter in one day. The kids had 2 days off school and I'm really sore from all the shoveling. Thanks for the corrections and suggestions!

I have gotten to know about the weather around NYC on a news. some points of view, snow give me a holiday. But other points of view, snow makes me more cautious not to slip. I don't need to shovel cuz I live in an apartment. when I get a house, I have to, though.... By the way, is " have gotten to know" strange?
