The school's square
In high school, we were a group of a few friends. We always went out together, meeting us front of the school, sometimes during the evening.
The square outside the school was our meeting place, our meeting room pool, and our playground. It was supposed to be only the place of our meetings before we went somewhere else. But once we started to chat, to smoke, or play a lot, we forget going to other places.
I remember a period of great strikes at school. We did not do lessons for a week. It was so much fun to lose all that time, but how bad to go back to school as soon as the protest ended!...
My friends and I didn't want to go to school so we tried to convince other people to continue the protest for any reason possible: against the traffic jam, against the flu, against the bad weather, etc.
Of course, in the end we went to the lessons. We can't forget that boring and endless Monday, always looking outside the window, to "our" square under a pouring rain.
It was there where we wanted to stay.
