Essay In our modern urban lifestyles, people seem have forgotten the sense of community. I’m not convinced that we could return to a simpler way of life, because nowadays this situation has been consolidated. In other words, in my opinion, values on which society is based are changed: as time goes by people have also changed their way of thinking, even if it is not evolved. In the first place, it is necessary to refer to the past, because it is very important to obtain information thinking about this latter and the process that has led to this situation. We have had a regression in various issues: for instance, humans’ values gradually change depending on the acquisition of importance in the society. Must be remembered that today’s society is based on the money, because people want to become richer and richer and have the power; frequently a man can be blinded by his political power, and under those circumstances he lose his civilisation. Not only on the political side, but also on the economical one, there is relationship between the seller and the costumer that is getting worse, because always more frequently people cheat clients to earn more, besides without having the right competences in what they do. In contrast to this opinion, people say that we could live in a simpler way, but we have to consider today’s life, without bearing in mind the past, because willing or not the idea of “community” is modernised. So, we have to respond to this situation in a modern way, without thinking about the past. For example, we could participate more to the political life. Although this may be true, it is necessary to say that it is very difficult to realise. After all, the only thing that is sure it’s that today in our communities we have lost the respect.
