Hi! What is correct? He is the / a / – chef and works in a restaurant.
I suppose in this case it should be «a» because it implies a status but «He is the chef of a restaurant» because it can be only one chef in a restaurant

I'd say "He is a chef" and "He works as a chef in a restaurant." "He's the chef (of the restaurant).
