It was sunny today. After school, Mom went to take MeeMaw for some treatment and left Dad and me at home. Since Dad had to stay in bed, I was in charge of caring for him. Mom had ordered food for us. All I had to do was pour Dad’s porridge from the to-go container into his bowl and heat it up a bit. I also decided he could only have one energy drink, no chocolates, while I enjoyed all the snacks. It felt good to be the one in charge at home.
