In my opinion, it's up to elderly people to decide whether they should or not be committed in nursing homes considering they will get unamused if they dive into something totally against their willpower. However, I recognize there must be certain particular scenarios to analyze like those cases where they are not able to make any decison under any circumstance by themselves. In those situations, their main guardians have to look for specific assistance because health workers will know better than everyone else what they are supposed to do.
