Hey everyone,
do you also struggle with students not doing their homework, so you end up covering it again in class?
Homework is supposed to help them learn independently, but without it, progress feels much slower.
How do you handle this? Any strategies or tools that actually work?

I agree with the previous answer especially for the children.
For adults, I ask them in advance if they want to have homework, and I will cover it in class if they don't do it. 
Using a variety of activities including audio or video based homework is helpful from time to time as well

You can reduce homework while rewarding the student and encouraging them to do it 
Also, ask the parents, if possible, why he did not do his homework. 
You can make the beginning of each lesson a homework review.
