what is "busting"?
"She felt bad about busting him." what does "busting"here mean? is it mean "report someone to the police"?

The idea here is that "to bust" roughly means "to expose" - that is the person who is "busted" was actually doing something wrong, ie. something either illegal or even naughty or out-of-character.
For example, if your friend is on a diet and you discover them eating chocolate cake, you would say "Ha! Busted!" to tease them about it.
In Australia, we commonly use "to dob in (someone)" to mean we report them to the police: "She felt bad about dobbing him in."
