"you should be so lucky" What does this mean I have this line from big bang theory when Howard is about to torment Sheldon Howard: Are you familiar with the 12 labors of Hercules? Sheldon: Of course. Howard: You should be so lucky. what does the last sentence mean? Is it like "And it's your lucky day; you're being lucky ('cause it's your turn to go through 12 labors)" Thanks so much

I am surprised that they would expect the audience to know these. howard is saying to sheldon, "you deserve great punishments." The 12 labors were punishments. To be so lucky would mean the punishments Hercules had were not bad enough for Sheldon.

Jesse is correct. Perhaps Sheldon committed some transgression, and his punishment was expected to be severe. How severe? The Twelve Labors of Hercules would seem trivial in comparison to the punishment he may actually receive.
