When "se " is followed by "stesso" the accent is not necessary , you can always use both but
"Se stesso " is mostly used by everybody in the write form .Anyway this a typical doub for " L' Accademia della crusca! " not for normal people! We often use it without accent .

The stressed one is correct. sé stesso = himself
If you have any doubts I suggest you to consult the Treccani dictionary

It's "sé stesso" and not "se' stesso". In any case "sé stesso" and "se stesso" are both right, but "se stesso" is more frequently used nowadays.
Please note that the accent is compulsory when you use "sé". For instance: parla sempre di sé e dei suoi problemi; quell'uomo è troppo pieno di sé (he's too conceited); Maria è fuori di sé dal dolore (Maria is overcome by her sorrow). Ciao!!!

Adesso puoi usare se` stesso;
