For example, if you have the verb "eat" in its dictionary form (먹다), then you have to drop the 다, ALWAYS, and add the conjugation. In all the conjugations, you have to add something different depending on who are you talking to. - Informal low respect: You need to add ~어/아/여 to the verb, if the verb ends with ㅓor ㅗ, you add ~어, if it doesn't, you add 아, and if it ends with 하, you add 여. This rule applies to the other grades of formality. 나는 항상 저녁에 음식을 먹어 = I always eat food in the evening (먹 + 어) 나는 나의 선생님을 항상 봐 = I always see my teacher (보 + 아) 나는 항상 아침에 운동해 = I always exercise in the morning (운동하 + 여) - Informal high respect: You add the same ~어/아/여 but also a 요 저는 항상 저녁에 음식을 먹어요 = I always eat food in the evening (먹 + 어요) 저는 저의 선생님을 항상 봐요= I always see my teacher (보 + 아요) 저는 항상 아침에 운동해요 = I always exercise in the morning (운동하 + 여요 - Formal high respect: You add ㅂ니다/습니다. The first one is for verbs that end with a vowel, the other if it ends with a consonant. 저는 항상 저녁에 음식을 먹습니다 = I always eat food in the evening (먹 + 습니다) 저는 저의 선생님을 항상 봅니다 = I always see my teacher (보 + ㅂ니다) 저는 항상 아침에 운동합니다 = I always exercise in the morning (운동하 + ㅂ니다) There's another way to conjugate, but i don't know the level of formality of this one: - The other way: You add ㄴ/는다 to the verb. The first one is for verbs that end with a vowel, the other if it ends with a consonant. Remember to drop the 다 of the verb, it's not the same 다 of the 는다. 저는 먹다 = I eat (not conjugated) 저는 먹는다 = I eat (conjugated – present tense) 저는 배우다 = I learn (not conjugated) 저는 배운다 = I learn (conjugated – present tense) As far as i know (not too much) the most common level of formality is the Informal High respect in most situations.

you know ,' lego' block? Korean is like playing with the block. you can make various shapes with the blocks. but you should have one core block, for example is 먹 of 먹다(eat) now I am going to make many shapes. first, present tense you wanted. 먹고, 먹으니, 먹어서,먹으면, 먹지 etc past tense, 먹었고, 먹었으면,etc future, 먹을 ~ are you Ok?, much confused? Don't worry, today it's good to know that Koean is like playing with lego blocks. and just take one sentence whatever you want in dictonary example. I have one for you, 밥을 먹어서 행복해, (I'm happy because I am eating steamed rice/I'm happy because I have eaten steamed rice)
