爱simply just means love,,,
the main meaning for 情 is feelings,all kinds of feeling including hate,angry and etc ,not only love.take some words for example: 感情，情趣，情绪。
the second meaning of 情 is concerned with love relationship,for example:爱情，情侣，情诗 。
the third meaning of 情 is situation,like 事情，实情，情形

"爱"could be a verb ,or a noun as well ."情" is used as a noun .
