'Qual è la differenza tra: "Me l'ha detto..." e "Mi ha detto..."? sembrano uguali.'
in "Me l'ha detto..."
"l" stands for "lo", in this case "lo" is not an article by a pronoun, it refers to what is already been said.
for examples:
A:"Domani arriva Paolo".
B:"Come lo sai?"
A:"Me l'ha detto Marco". (or "Me lo ha detto Marco")
You can also say: "Me l'ha detto Marco che domani arriva Paolo" (not very good italian), but in this case it's better to do not use "lo" -> "Mi ha detto Marco che domani arriva Paolo".
So, if you use "lo" than also use "me", without "lo" use "mi".
Hope this can help.

It says :"Qual è la differenza......" and I agree with Chiara. Ciao

Me l'ha detto = he told me (it). L' (lo) refers to something that was said before.
Mi ha detto = he told me (that). If you say "mi ha detto" you need to add "che" (that) and say what the person told you.
Examples:
Marco andrà in vacanza in Svezia. Me l'ha detto ieri.
Ieri, Marco mi ha detto che andrà in vacanza in Svezia.
