I have troubles with the preposition "for" in Finnish.Which case-ending or pre/postposition is used? I'm wondering how I should use "for" in the Finnish language. Is a particular case-ending or pre/postpositon used to imply "for"? Could you please help me with it? Thanks in advance! For example: I ate pasta for dinner/breakfast. I'm learning it just for fun. I've been living here for four years. You should have academic studies for getting a good job. You should be self-motivated for learning a new language. You need to buy new wheels for your car. I have to be well-prepared for my exam. I have to control my budget for buying a new car. I'd be extremely grateful, if you can help me. Could you please give me more examples of it as well?

No, there is not particular case(s) for the prepostion "for" in Finnish. I have translated your sentences to Finnish. I ate pasta for dinner/breakfast. Söin pastaa lounaaksi/aamiaiseksi. I'm learning it just for fun. Opiskelen huvin vuoksi. I've been living here for four years. Olen asunut täällä neljä vuotta. You should have academic studies for getting a good job. Sinulla pitäisi olla akateemisia opintoja (or koulutus) saadaksesi kunnon työpaikan. You should be self-motivated for learning a new language. Sinulla pitäisi olla motivaatiota oppiaksesi uuden kielen. You need to buy new wheels for your car. Sinun pitää ostaa uudet renkaat autoosi. I have to be well-prepared for my exam. Minun pitää olla valmistautunut hyvin tenttiä(ni) varten. I have to control my budget for buying a new car. Minun pitää kontrolloida budjettiani (or rahankäyttöäni) ostaakseni uuden auton.
