I believe that both of the sentences are constructed in error. They should have a modifier to indicated that this statement happened in the past. Consider this form: Yesterday, my friend said that you should think about what you would like to be doing 10 to 15 years from now." Yes, that is correct, we all should have been thinking about what we would like to be doing in ten to fifteen years."

I would not use either because both are vague. If the question is about career path and/or employment, use the appropriate word. If the question is about living situation, family, or something else, be more specific. I want to do at least as much as I am doing then as now.
