How would you explain ‘notion’ in the context? Lev was more jovial, congratulating the couple with formal toasts and Russian love poems recited from memory. Bunny (the bride) wore a crown of twined flowers, some old-world notion of Natalya’s, and somehow procured a bag of Van’s beloved licorice for a wedding present. How would you explain ‘notion’ in the last sentence: …some old-world notion of Natalya’s…? Does it mean it’s Natalya’s idea that Bunny should wear the crown? Thanks!

Yes, it is an idea. The 'old world' part means that Natalia thought (rightly or wrongly) that it was an old tradition that would be good to continue.
