I have got and I got I am confused with " have got " and " got " you can see the sentences below. 1. we've got visitors Is it wrong if I say " we got visitors " ? 2.I've got a pistol is it wrong if I say " I had pistol " ? Please explain these sentences. Thank you

"We got visitors" is about the past, and to be honest it sounds a little strange in standard English. "I've got a pistol" means there is a pistol in your possession now. "I had a pistol" is about the past, and it's clear that you do not have a pistol now.
