In English it is a way of telling you about your future based on your birthdate and the star sign you were born under. For example I was born in December so my star sign is Sagittarius.A person who understands horoscopes may ask me what exact day and time I was born and then will tell me something about my future. Some people believe in this and others don't (I don't!) I have no idea how it works in China.

For example, if you tell me that you are born on the 10th of September, I will know that you are a Virgo personality, and therefore, you will be a personality that is "analytical". If you indicate that you are a Pisces, I will understand that you tend to be emotionally sensitive. If you are a Leo, I will know that you do not easily change, but that you also have a "Queenly" demeanor like Royalty and that you are very charitable.
