Where do you start when learning a language?
Hi everyone!
I've been learning Italian off and on due to a busy schedule, and I thought I'd take the time to ask this question: How do you all begin learning your languages?
Personally, Italian was my second language to learn, which made beginning easier. I'd also had to learn Latin as my foreign language in high school, and since Italian is a Romance language, that was also an advantage.
I've used sites like busuu.com. Additionally, I used Rosetta Stone. RS is fine in the beginning with simple words, but soon you begin to wonder because there are no translations, just straight immersion, the same way you learn your native language as a kid.
What does everyone else use to begin learning a language? RS, internet sites, teachers, textbooks and workbooks, or just having conversations with people native to the one you wish to learn?
Thanks!
