Different words for "path," "road," etc.
La carretera, el sendero, el rastro, y el camino. Could someone explain the nuances among these words? I have some grasp of them and would guess that they would respectively translate to "road," "path," "trail," and "way," but I would like to be sure. What usually gets me confused is when the road or way being discussed is not quite literal, as in "the road to success" or "Where will the road take me next?" Which word would be used in these instances?
Sorry, that turned into multiple questions. Any help would be appreciated. :)
