Can I call that a misunderstanding? If your colleague said that she had sent a text message that she couldn't do the time of your meeting, but you didn't receive it and waited for her in vain. Would you say any of these phrases? Let's consider it a misunderstanding. Let's look at it as a misunderstanding.

A better word in this case would be "miscommunication". Since the text never made it to you, it was technically a communication problem. A miscommunication. This word isn't only used in such a literal sense. You could also use if if the text came through, but it was unreadable or something. With a "misunderstanding", you have communicated fine (texted, talked, emailed, etc.) but the meaning is confusing or you two interpret what was said in a different way. Let's consider it a miscommunication. Let's just say it was a miscommunication. etc. Hope that helps.
