You could try books that are free downloads. I found these ESL reading exercises for adults: http://elcivics.com/esl-ebooks-free.html I simply searched "free books for ESL students"

You could try children's books or graded readers (books aimed at children of certain grade levels). Picture books can be helpful and nice.
