a person who likes cat is called a cat person
but a person who likes little animals is called an animal person or a little animal person?

It wouldn't sound very natural to say "animal person", in my experience though in context, the meaning would be understood. "Animal lover" sounds better and you can also say "cat lover", "dog lover" etc.
