They unite vs They unite themselves What's the difference between "they unite" and "they unite themselves"? I'll give you an example: They unite and kidnap her. They unite themselves and kidnap her. Is there any difference? Thank you. =]

We don't normally say "unite themselves". In your example, people would often use the verbs "get together" or "come together". If you are translating from a Portuguese word which is similar to "unite", it may be that your verb is used in informal situations. For us, "unite" is used formally.
